Microsoft July 2026 Price Increase UK

Microsoft has officially announced price increases across Microsoft 365, and they take effect from 1 July 2026.

This will impact most businesses using Microsoft 365 when they next renew.

Below we’ll break down what’s increasing, by how much, and what this means in practice, especially for UK small businesses.

Microsoft 365 Price Increases from 1 July 2026

From 1 July 2026:

New Microsoft 365 subscriptions will use the new pricing
Existing customers will see the increase at their next renewal
The changes apply globally, with local currency pricing confirmed closer to the date

Microsoft 365 Business Pricing – Before and After July

Microsoft has published official list pricing in USD for the Business plans.
UK pricing hasn’t been released yet, but we expect similar percentage increases when it is.

Business Premium Is the Smart Default for SMEs

With these increases, Microsoft has subtly shifted the value conversation - aiming squarely at security.

The gap between Business Standard and Business Premium is now much smaller. Premium continues to include:

Advanced security
Device management
Conditional access
Built‑in protection that most businesses otherwise buy separately

At the same time:

Business Basic and Apps for Business are seeing some of the largest percentage increases
Lower‑tier licences now offer worse value per pound than they did before

Every WYSIWYG managed client uses Business Premium, we require it because of the tools it allows us to use to protect our clients. Microsoft here is making the decision of which plan to pick less about price and more about the right tool for the job.

What About UK Pricing?

Microsoft hasn’t released official UK (GBP) pricing yet. It's frustrating, but normal.

Local pricing is typically confirmed around 30 days before the change
When UK prices are published, they usually mirror the same percentage increases as the US

If you’re renewing after July 2026:

Expect higher Microsoft licence costs unless you’re on Business Premium
Consider renewing on an annual subscription before July to lock in current prices
